Hello,
I've come across tutorials showing how to create door families with different degrees of door openings, but only in plan view and I believe using symbolic lines. Is it possible to do this with extruded elements so that it's visible in 3D view?

Yes, when you make the door family you need to create a door swing parameter (dimension) that controls the angle of the door extrusion. A way to do that would be to use a reference line that is controlled by the swing parameter and use that as the working plane for the door extrusion.

I did try doing that (unsuccessfully) but from reading your answer I think I know where I went wrong ; I'll givitago.
