I am new to Revit MEP (minimal experience). We were sent a Architectural rvt file that I am trying to open and add MEP (HVAC) to it. When I start a new project Revit MEP defaults to a set of start up equipment, ductwork, fittings etc. The problem is occurring when I open the Architectural rvt file in Revit MEP none of this start up info is in place. Ducts to not come with fittings. You cannot conntect two ducts together, you cannot connect to equipment or flex. Even when I load famlies in so that I have ducts and grilles and such they still wont connect and route properly How do you get an Architectural rvt file into Revit MEP and still have the ductwork, grilles and equipment all interact with each other as if it was a blank project? Thank you in advance for any assistance given,

Don't work in the architect's file, start your own project and link their file.
