Hello! I've just bought a new computer and installed Revit Architecture 2011. The computer is an 15,6" laptop, and I'm using an external screen for Revit. Every time i click on an object to select it, the object is moved. I've been working with Revit for the last three years, and I've never before experienced this problem. It only happens when I select by clicking, not when I select by "drawing" a box around the object I want to select. Also, it only happens when I'm using the external screen for Revit - when I'm using the "native" screen it works at it should. I know I can prevent this problem by using constraints, but that shouldn't be necessary. Could anybody please explain to me what I'm doing wrong and/or how to fix this? The screen is a 21.5" BenQ (G2220HD) The graphics card is ATI mobility Radeon 5660 HD The laptop is a Compal NBLB5 Thanks in advance Edit: after a bit of searching I've found a temporary solution. If I set the external screen as "primary screen" the problem is solved. I would prefer a solution where I can keep the laptops own screen as the primary screen, and still use the external screen for Revit though.

Did you turn off the "Press and Drag" (Bottom / right)?

Thanks for replying Typhoon Turning off "press & drag" does prevent the objects from being moved. The entire lower part of the screen still makes a jump though. The "ribbon" bar doesn't move, but the options bar and everything underneath it does, which can be quite annoying when selecting multiple objects by ctrl+click. In the time it takes the window to jump (first down then back up), it seems as if the options bar is opening up additional bars, below the original options bar. This is happening in a matter of a second or less, but I've attached a pic that explains what happens. I still hope someone can explan what is happening.

One thing, did you install the "Web Update" for 2011?

If the web update was not included in the Revit Architecture 2011 download, then the answer is no. I have just searched autodesk website for "revit architecture 2011 web update", but did not find any match. Is it possible you could post a link? Thanks

If I understand your comment, klban, the same graphics glitch happened to me for a while. I ended up right-clicking on the bar beneath the ribbon and choosing for it to "dock at bottom". It took a while to get used to that, but the graphics glitch doesn't happen anymore.

Works like a charm! Thanks JohnMc! I guess it will take a little getting used to, but I'll manage
