I'm having an issue where I go to render views and the decal's that I have applied render as black, yet the JPG file information is all there under the Decal type. Also when I go to realistic view (using Revit2011) the decal's image appears, so it only appears as black when rendered. Can anybody help me out? Thanks

Go to Options > Rendering and add a path where you have your decals (jpg files)

Hmm. Didn't fix the problem. If it helps, It worked when I first rendered the decal, the JPG was displayed. But then I placed more than one of the decal and added new decals and then they appeared black. So i deleted all the decals and loaded the one decal again and it still renders as black. I'm not an expert on rendering, so I'll post all the decal type info to see if there are any conflicting things that could result in it rendering black. the Bitmap is a jpg so no issues there. unifiedbitmap_RGBAmount = 1 Reflectivity = 0% Transparency = 0% Finish = Matte Luminance= not illuminated Bump Pattern = (BLANK) Bump Amount = 30% Cutouts = None Cheers for the help.

Yeah... sorry Typhoon. No can see... you could copy and paste the whole thread to this one BUT from what I did see from your screen shot, I don't think that that is my issue because it still shows up in realistic mode as the proper JPG in the correct position. So the Decal is definitely placed in the correct position as shown below.

It's not a unique problem to the one pic. Happens with all JPGs. But here. Have some advertising!

ooo. dead image. thats suspicious. I think I have it figured out. It's the image's fault. The images are stored on an external company server. but then When I save it to the desktop it still has the same issue. Whereas images processed through photoshop don't have the issue. SO... i opened up the image in Paint and then saved as new.... but still the samething happened. Then i try opening it in Photoshop and it tells me the ICC profile is invalid... whatever that is... oh colour space. Ok its working. I saved it as a bmp through PS and it now works. WIERD... funky images. But Thats it resolved. thanks guys!

tomdub90 I had the same problem. My jpgs were in CMYK, I tried to save them as RGB and worked.

Same problem after upgrading to 2011. It worked fine in 2010 but now all images rendering black. I tried resave images with a different ICC profile and in various file formats but with no effect. BTW same problem in a new file that was not upgraded from 2010 format. Any tips appreciated!
