Hello, I'm trying to create a family for electrical symbols. I like to place a symbol on my floor (approx. 150mm above the floor, so you see it in any floor plan). In the same family I have drawn a 3d object representing a switch for example. Now I'd like to be able to give the 3d drawing a height, but the 2d symbol needs to remain on the ground. (and maybe have a text, showing the height of the switch) I've used a nested 2d symbol in a 3d wall-based family. Problem: when I give the switch a height, the 2d-symbol also moves. How can I lock the symbol to a specified height? Thanks!

Add a ref plane in your family, and tie the 3D stuff to that. Then add a parameter to control the ref plane.

Yes, done that. Only problem is, that the 2D symbol also moves along, can't seem to lock that...?
