I wish that you could filter sheet sets in the print dialog by sheet parameters. What if you wanted to print all sheets from issue date X and not issue date Y? Or, what if you wanted to print all the sheets with revisions? Schedules update automatically when new sheets are added to fit the filters but sheet sets do not. Revit is really good at eliminating user error but this is a big drawback.

Pretty simple process. Why don't you set up a working schedule to filter your sheets and then print what the schedule lists?

Right, that's how we're doing it now. But, like I said before, there is always user error. You can set up a sheet set but if you rely on it too much you'll miss sheets that have been added recently. When you have hundreds of sheets it becomes time consuming to match your print set to the schedule. For multiple issues of the project set it's even worse.

Hi... I know this is an old thread, but just wondering if it's possible to automatically select drawings for printing based on what is listed on a schedule? Or is it just a case of looking at the schedule and ticking the boxes for the appropriate sheets, then saving the set (i.e. the set is not responsive to the addition of new sheets)

That's exactly what I was hoping for as well. It seems as though, at the moment, you have to manually choose the sheets you want in the print set dialog box. I requested an add-in from the awesome programmers at http://www.revitappstore.com/. They gave me a glimpse of what the add-in could do (it allows you to select sheets based on sheet parameters, allows you to name the print set, but doesn't create the print set). This was a quick app they made unfortunately they asked too much for the full add-in. I've told them that I think a lot of people would be interested. If you're interested let them know: http://www.revitappstore.com/contact.php?AppId=29

If you ned to update a set, then use it as a base, add - subtract as you need then save.

But I've already done that in my schedule so it can appear in my sheet index. Why should I have to do it again? It's always a time crunch when it comes to printing. And having to check a few hundred sheets more than once isn't efficient.
