Revit 2011. I am trying to rename sheets in the project browser. I get the msg that sheet # is already in use. I check the drawing list and see sheets there that I cannot see in my browser. Whats up with ghost sheets? How do I find them so I can delete them? We have a hunch this is related to the fact that a colleague imported sheets into our model from a consultant (in order to update our drawing list). Our coworker is gone though and I don't know how he did this or how to undo it. thanks for the help! -ghostbuster

I solved the problem by creating a drawing list that shows all the consultants drawings and deleting from there.

ok back to having a problem. Now I can't delete some of the sheets. These sheets are showing in the sheet list but not in my project browser. When I select the sheet row in the sheet list the option to delete is greyed out... any ideas?

Appears to be currupted software ? Haven't experienced phantom sheet problems myself with RAC, RST or RME 2011. Have a search here, you may find somthing yet. Curious, who is your autodesk reseller ?

Hi DG Thanks for replying. I've been looking for a while and haven't seen any other answers other than auditing the file. I have not done this bcz I'm nervous to mess something up before a deadline. We get our autodesk products straight from autodesk.

This is looking like a software issue. Call autodesk or report it on your subscription account. Getting software direct from autodesk means you are a student, goverment or a very big company but either way I would expect they all come with direct support, no ? My understanding in this biz. is that all autodesk products cannot be sold or distributed without support? Anyone running unsupported REVIT software out there ?

yes we have autodesk suport but generally I've found over the phone autodesk support to be a terrible waste of time.

What is the software build number you have? It's under the help menu. Maybe it's just a matter of installing the latest REVIT service pack ? Please, share your poor direct phone support details I bet they're are a few people here interested. My experience as a reseller support guy is autodesk is very good at supporting the reseller customers so you would think buying direct you would get even better support not worse but maybe not. That's what the resellers get paid for I guess. Curious, what did you people pay for yor REVIT software and how many seats do you have ?

If you're concerned about damaging a file before a deadline, copy the file, make the changes/audit your copy, see if there are any problems before proceeding.

First, right click on Sheets (all) and create new sheet. It will show you to select titleblocks. Before you click OK, just take a look under Select placeholder sheets. You can see your already create loaded Sheet name and number that you can still use by clicking or selecting which on the list is what you need instead of New. Hope this will help you and others.
