can someone help me figure out why the slab edges of my floors are turning brown in my sections?  see attached sketch of a parking garage

the floors were made by using a floor family with just the default material setting

i haven't changed any of the settings and i'm trying to make them black, anyone have a clue how to make the edges black again?

let me also say that this garage was built in another file, and its being referenced into this new file. the brown doesn't show up in the original file when i cut a section, but it does in this file..  not sure if that makes a difference

I know this is an old post, but I have a similar problem I can't find addressed in the forum... When having trouble with colored lines showing up in linked models, the problem seems to be "Analytical Model Lines".  I've turned all of those off in the VG settings, but for some reason the brown lines around my foundation slabs won't leave!

Revit 2011, linked file with custom VG settings, everything unchecked under foundations, but those thick brown lines still show.  Any solutions?

The brown lines are in the floors category of your linked model.  Even with the "floor" unchecked in your linked file, you need to turn the floors back on, and uncheck analytical model under floors.
