I have been struggling with loading in 3d Architectual Dwg into Revit MEP. I link the files, bring them into Revit and when I attempt to take a section view of the model that I have linked.. It just shows the elevation of the building. It wont show interior walls.. Anybody have any ideas?

It sounds like your section isn't cutting through the building. When you draw your section, are you placing it inside the building? what about the extents of the section (green dashed line) is that inside the building as well? Honestly I have never linked a 3d cad drawing in Revit, so there may be something else going on (object enabler?) but if your section is showing an elevation, it sure sounds like it is outside of the building and not cutting through it.

I have since laid in the floorplans and traced the wall layout with Revit. I still have a Mechanical System that was designed with Auto Duct and I have inserted it into the model. My sections now cut through the building since I reconstructed the building in Revit. But.... of course it doesnt cut through the mechnical system I inserted. I can do a layer query and hide certain elements that shouldn't be shown in the particular section view. Is there a way I dont have to do this? and Revit MEP will recognize that I am cutting through the system.. otherwise it shows all the mechanical components in line with the section view both front and back of the section line. -- Andy

Perhaps the view visibility is the culprit. Do the 3d elements represent as a Mass, if so they are usually turned off by default. checkVP, VG and see if Mass is checked. hth

I don't do MEP but in architecture, some family categories do not cut.
