In Revit 2011 - is there a way to remove the properties dialogue box so it does not show all the time? I can close it but everytime I look up an object's properties it stays on again.

best solution i can think of is to assign a left hand shortcut to the properties box so it will toggle on and off with two key strokes (a little quicker than closing with mouse).

Autodesk Logic. They thought it was a good idea to create a ribbon in order to free up some screen-space. Then, they filled the empty space with a dockable properties box.
