I just created my first nested door family. It is a door family with (2) nested double panel families. The double panels are generic models set to door category. Then I started the door family with the door template and brought in the double panels as components. For some reason I can get the nested double panels to tag in the elvation view (along with original door family), but in plan view I cannot get the nested panels to tag. Only the original door family tag will show in plan view. Any ideas on why this is? Is the tag not finding the panels in plan view because I have them set to only show in front/back and left/right views? I dont' have this problem with my other doors? Any help is appreciated. Revit 2010 files attached: Thanks!

Yes the tag could not find any object in plan view to tag. Solution: open the panel family and select the extrusions and turn the visibility off there. Also go to plan view and add an invisible SYMBOLIC line across the panels. save and reload into the host family. In the host family select the inserted componet and resest the visibility to show in all views. This should allow you to insert and tag all three doors in plan view. Here are the families that i modified to acheive this.
