I am trying to creat a triangular shaped window in elevation.  What is the best way to do this?  I have looked at editing a family, seems rather complex....

I just want to cut the wall as required, insert a fixed paen of glass and some mullions.  Any Ideas.  Seems like I could use an in-place family, not sure though.

Thanks a million!

There are some triangular windows families you can use, if they aren't what you expect you always can create a new one, just go to File > New > Family and choose "Window" template then create the window like you want, also, in project in that elevation view, select the wall then in options bar select "Edit Profile", draw the shape of that window like you want, finish the profile and you have the Opening in that wall, then you can create a curtain wall inside that opening and apply the mullions after, remember, you also can edit the profile in a curtain wall too.

Thanks.  I actually tried the curtain wall last night which seemed to work.   Not sure I did it the most efficient way.  I basically broke the wall where I needed it in plan, inserted the curtain wall, then modifed the shape in elevation, inserted the mullions...tada!

This morning I waded into the family editor for the first time, created a new family just for fun using the window rft, after referring back to some typical types I think it worked, although I am not sure I have locked everything properly, and it is only one size and the wall opening is not quite right...good enough for a beginner I suppose.

Thanks for the tips!

"I basically broke the wall where I needed it in plan, inserted the curtain wall, then modifed the shape in elevation, inserted the mullions...tada!" - you don't need to "Broke" anything, in curtain wall properties > Edit/Type, you have a "Embeded ..." parameter and this allowing to "Open" the wall automatically in that zone, try it....
