Is it possible to "hide" an element or catagory from showing on a sheet layout, but leave it visible in the corresponding view? Similar to "Freeze" in Paper space only in AutoCAD. thanks

I don't think there is a way to do this. Why would you want to when you have some other choices through multiple views? We use sheet views and working views - that may do what you want. Also, remember that with view templates, you can assure that sheet views are always set correctly.
