Hello!  How can I add my OWN materials to a project?  Revit's materials seem to be a little limited, so I would like to add some of my OWN hand-picked materials to the materials file.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jacqueline

Just Duplicate one material then you can change the Texture you want, check your HELP menu....

Not sure if that is what I was asking...sorry Smile  Here is my real question...I have a nice oxidized metal jpg that I would like to use for a Revit project,  but Revit's metals are too simple.  How to I get MY jpg to appear as a material under the "metals" section?

Not like you want i believe, you can copy JPGS to the materials folders but you don't have those "Balls" with you material (jpeg) in one of them...

Yes, I tried to copy & paste the jpg to the materials already, and I didn't see the materials wrapped in the "balls," as you said.  When that happens, the jpg doesn't show up in the materials when I am trying to add/edit material composition to an object.

(In other words, it shows up when you paste i to the Revit "data" folder to get to the materials, but does not appear as an option when you search materials through the actual project.)
