Is there a way to automate the creation of a running bond pattern on a curtain wall? Of course I can create the horizontial grid lines in the curtain wall type. The problem is the vertical grid lines are staggard. Is there some kind of formula I can use to create the staggard grid lines?

Just place the full grid, then edit it to drop every other section in both directions.

Do I have to manually select and remove each grid line that I do want. If so then I have thousands of gridlines to remove. I am looking for a much quicker way to do this. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I am trying to layout brick using a curtain wall. I cannot use a simple hatch pattern because I have to count every brick and also give a size and total for every cut brick. Let me know if you have any other ideas on how to accomplish this.

All,
Has there been any further discussions on this topic. I work for a stone wall cladding company and this is our holy grail. we have running bond projects all the time and adjusting / adding / deleting the mullions is a bit cumbersome for a newbie.
I read "Just place the full grid, then edit it to drop every other section in both directions" from WWHub. Could you explain this further.
Thank you,
Timothy

Two ways... edit the grid pattern or stack one CW on another.
BTW... Once you have it edited in one project....just copy paste it into the next one.

Thank you for the quick response. Can I use Reference planes to *move* the mullions? any tips on that route?
RE: Stacking one CW on another, would you group them to ease moving / coping ? My current project is 16 courses high.
Thanks again.

you can try creating 2 CWs. One for the horizontal systme and one for the vertical system. You then use the vertical system as a a panel on the horizontal system. you can offset every other instance of the panel to create a running bond.
