HI, I'm trying to create a domed roofline similar to that shown in the first image below from AutoCAD. I thought the best way to create this would be to model it as an In Place component: Generic Model (see image 2) - I created two extrusions the top one tapers (couldn't get it to taper to a point though...). From this I selected the model and clicked Curtain System on the ribbon, with only boarder mullions - I used Rectangular 50x150. (see image 3) This generally seems to work ok - My first question - is this the best way of creating this?? My second question is that the mullions don't join at the edges, each panel has its own mullion - which looks odd (see image 4) - can you give me any pointers to resolve this. Cheers.

I think i created that with "ROOF - Sloped Glazing system" and use "L Corner Mullion" like you can see in my images...

In the real world that is how it would be made. They would fill in the gaps with either V angles or flattened V caps.

In the end I modelled the roof light entirly. As it is made up from a haxagon, I model a 'slice' then copy rotated it. The L shape mulltions work will, but it all goes a bit wrong, especially if want to put an L shaped mulltion at the junction between the two roof sloped - see the test I created (screen print attached)

Looks like you have it. You might want to look at what some of the manufacturer's have to offer for sloped glazing. Kawneer is a system that I have used before, but may not be available in the UK. http://www.kawneer.com/kawneer/north_america/en/bim.asp
