I'd like to be able to filter Note Block properties by TYPE so that I can separate Roof Keynotes from Plan Keynotes from Elevation Keynotes... etc. I'm also not sure how to assign a Keynote desciption to each element so that the Keynote tag identifies the object when the Keynote is placed or is this not how Keynotes work? Any info would be appreciated.

Simple, most objects have a space for comments, you can filter by comments, and you can make the comments field invisible.
filter by comments.
