Hi i just noticed that revit started using this material takeoffs thing. I've never used it before and I seem to know how to use it. Other than the stud count section. How do I make a schedule that counts the studs in the wall.

Directly from your HELP menu, use it, it's a good "Book"

Hi So i've read that and it still hasn't given me any clue on how to do the stud count. i know how to do the other material takeoffs like concrete. but using the stud count in the schedule option nothing shows up there. my question was just some sort of hint that you guys can give me to get this number to actually show up. i don't ask the questions that i need help with on here if i haven't read the help menu. i ask them cuz ive read it and still hasn't explained to me or i just don't get it.

Did you model any studs? If you didn't (and I think you didn't), then Revit can't count any. We don't model studs in a wall or concrete blocks in a block wall. Quantities of items like this are takedn off by area or lenngth of wall.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to model 1 wall and it did model studs but when i still picked the option for stud count it still didn't put a number in. I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. But you said it doesn't count studs in a wall it works by length of wall or area. if it doesn't how does that stud count option work then. cuz when i use the add in extensions it does put them on for me. i thought it would count them. so should i just manually do it then

I don't know anything about a stud count option. Are you using one of the add on functions?

when i try and make a schedule for material takeoffs for structural framing there is an option there for number of studs. but i also added in the add-ins extension because i thought that would model the studs and it would count it on the schedule for number of studs. But it still didn't do it
