Does anyone know how to get rid of this blue circle that shows up in all of my columns? The columns are in one revit file and appear normal there. But when it is linked into another revit project, the circles appear. Using Revit 2011. Thanks.

Go to visibility/graphics, check the box at the bottom left that says"show categories from all disciplines" ...what you're seeing is the structural analytical model. Ah. So since it's linked, (this is what the architect/consultants must do, not you) they'll have to go up to the "revit links" tab in VG, select the linked model, and modify the linked model's VG settings in there. Hope that helps. Checking the box "show all categories from all disciplines" is the real key.
