As I want to have some experiments with Revit's ability in creating custom curtain panels, I did a bit of research on google and saw no articles that could possibly answer my question.. I am wondering whether Revit 2011 has now got the ability to model something like this: http://designplaygrounds.com/projects/pneumatic-panels-revised-rhinoscript/ I noted someone also questioned over this topic on another thread http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=20608 many thanks.

Hi Typhoon I followed Zach's method of creating panels with curvature from this post and made my version of ETFE panels (not perfect. but something good enough as a start for me) http://buildz.blogspot.com/2009/12/conceptual-modeling-tips-with-joe-k.html The panel was made as a generic model then host into a pattern-based curtain panel as Zach did for his project. But now I come into the problem of panels not adjusting its size accordingly to suit the divided-surface of a conceptual mass. Do you think I have missed out some steps on the way? Thanks.

You did something wrong... select the Hexagon pattern to create that like you can see in the second image...

i know this was from 2 years ago, i just wanted to post my exterience on the topic.. i created my etfe pillows with a curtain wall panel by pattern (rectangular)
you can see in picture 1 the whole surface divided and in picture 2 how i modeled a single panel. i added a parameter to control the height of the pillow and thats it.
the pillow shape is basically a sweep of 3 things: starting line, middle arc, ending line.
if anyone wants more info on how i created the pillow shape, dont hesitate to contact me!

I think its easier if you see it yourself. As i said before, its really simple: the shape is made of a sweep of a straight line in one edge, a parabolic line in the centre and another straight line at the end of the panel.
Check it out!
Good luck man

Thanks for your very simple sweep method!
I have downloaded the cushion and tried to get in on my Eskimo globe.
However, the pattern does not show the cushion, just the square structure on my globe.
How did you get the cushion on the pattern?
I hope you can help me, I really like your etfe

Hi!
I did this so long ago i didnt even remember!
To show the panels you must change your view detail to HIGH (as in the first pic).
To change material and height of the etfe cushion select one panel and enter EDIT TYPE option (pic 2).
Hope it hepls!
