Hi All, I am confident that in BIM softwares especially Revit is very much capable of modeling & construction documentation process of engineering phases. Now when it comes to project documentation then i would you all to put some thoughts: 1) Records for documents like RFI (request for Information) & TQ (technical queries) are generally missing from BIM project files. Document controller has to manually take care of such stuff. - Please let me know your points 2) Documents like approval from planning application authority, project based specification etc are not of part of BIM right now Can you all please let me know what else you believe should be available in BIM? Any suggestions, thoughts etc. will help me to plan the strategy for upcoming projects in my company. Thanks in advance, Rams

I don't believe either of those belong in the BIM file but with it. A DWF can be used to collectively hold these documents along with a 3D image if you want everything in one file.

Thanks WWHub, Actually I am looking for a common platform where apart from BIM execellence we can integrate rest of the documents also. I am sure other users will also have something in their mind as well

Making Supplemental Drawings in Revit is the worst. If you need to make a change on a plan or detail, normally you wouldn't resubmit the entire sheet, rather include a portion of a plan or detail on a small 8 1/2 x 11. The only way I found to do that in Revit is to first make your change, then duplicate the view with detailing, crop the visible region and annotation before moving the view to a new sheet. And if you need to make a change, you need to make the change in both views or recreate you suplemental drawing view all over again. Most of the time the annotations dont come across the way you want it, and if it's a section, a new tag shows up on your floor plan in every view at that level. Revit needs to come up with a "paper space" tool like Autocad uses.
