Is there a way to change the column grid bubble text for a few column grids without changing all column grid bubbles in project? We use arial font for our column grid bubbles. We have column grid bubbles with text (13.9 and DD.5, etc.) This text runs outside the column bubble. Any suggestions?

you would need to go to annotation family folder and select the column bubble and change the text size there then load it back into your project. at that point it will ask you if you want to overrite the existing and say yes and all bubbles will be updated. make sure you dont move the circle intself in the family file or it will change positions when you reload ot back into your project file.

This changes all column grid bubbles to that text, when you reload into project. I do not need (example column lines "1" or "A" text to be that narrow.

is see what you arre saying now sorry about that. what we do is find the largest piece of string of text and make our bubble to fit that string centered. then all other text would have the same bubble just more space around it. you would do that the same way i described to adjust your text size just adjust your bubble instead. or if you did not mind having different sized column bubbles in your set, you could duplicate the column bubble make it fit your text string you need and load that into your project. then select that family as the column bubble head for all the longer stringed text. or the same idea but make your text smaller for the larger string and use that family for the larger string of text, so that way your bubbles all match. when you determine which way to do it and it is all loaded back in, you need to select the column grid line that needs adjusted go to prop and select edit type, duplicate the type, and give it a new name then change the symbol to your new bubble family to the one you just loaded into your project. then go to all the ones that need changed and change their type to your new grid family hope that helped if you need more info let me know and i will try to explain a little more, good luck.

In Revit you can define different types of objects including different grid types. Open the grid circle family assigned to your grid type, edit>duplicate rename and assign a narrow font. Load into your project. In project select a grid: edit>duplicate rename and assign your narrow font circle head. Now in the project you have two different grid types and you can assign which one is best for the situation without doing a global change.
