Hi I have place a beam in my model but I cannot get it to show in plan view no matter what I tweak. I have tried adjusting the view depth, detail settings for course, medium, fine etc, but nothin seems to work. Here is the error message I get: ......None of the created elements are visible in Floor Plan: Phase 3 / beam level at top View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings, as well as any Plan Regions and their settings...... Any ideas please Thank you Kirk, Using Revit 2010

sounds like the view you are in is not the correct phase for the item you are tring to place. check you phase and phase filter settings. set them to the correct selections and your beam should show up.

First thing is first. Click on the light bulb, can you see it there? I am asssuming not, so then you have a few options, check your view range, as you have said you have. One way I like to double check this is by going in to a 3D view and orienting the 3D view to the plan that I can not see something. Can you see it in that 3D? If not can you change the section box to make it visible? If it is visible in 3D then it may be that your phase is incorrect...do you have new, old, existing, etc phases on your project? Try applying a view template from one where you see beams and see if it shows up. Also may try playing with the view dicipline.

This happened to me too. Found all I had to do, assuming other things mentioned were checked was to set my DETAIL LEVEL to MEDIUM. So stupidly simple. Wasted 15mjinutes of life working it out.
They really need to bring back layers.

Thanks very much. Changing the detail level to medium fixed the problem
