i have seem to have lost the Family Template files.... can any one help?

did you move your template folder or rename it? if you select the revit r, in the upper left corner, there is an options tab select, in the lower right corner, and check your file locations.  this is where you tell revit where to look for theses files. if you have moved it or renamed it browse to the correct folder and all should be back to normal.

thanks bimman for youre reply, i think they dont exist on my pc i dont know what has happened. i'm work with revit 2009, been trying to find them on the web but cant seem to locate them anywhere. maybe i'm not putting in the right search parameters.... sorry i'm just a newbie to all this (my vocab in revit terminology is great). i've just relised i dont think i made the thread very clear, what i havent got is the default family templates, you know when you select file/new/family than you choose the type of .rtf, i dont seem to have these....

Wierd.... Did you have any problem when you install Revit? Any error?

Try to Uninstall and Install again and check if the problem persists....

hey Typhoon. when i installed it, i had needed the default templates to create anything new.... but now as i'm learning more & more & experimenting with revit i would like to give it ago... so i dont know whats going on aye.... i got no errors. its a pain in the neck....
