I tried using a pen tablet for a while. It worked ok, especially for initial layout. It was less handy as I started to get into detail work, and since it was a hassle to switch back to a mouse every time I switched from Revit, I ended up just going back to a mouse.

So, functionally it works, but it wasn't the tool for me.

I've been using the Wacon Intuios line for years for everything including Revit.  I like them but the do take getting used to.  It took me a good six months to get truely comfortable with them.  Now I can't go back to a regular old mouse.  Even the Mac Magic Mouse that came with my new Mac is sitting idle.  If you do any Photoshop the tablets are the only way to go.  With the Bamboo pricing, it makes sense to give one a shot and see if you like it.  You can have multiple input devices connected and use the one that works best for the task.
