Hi, I have two walls on wall footings as seen in the picture. When placing these wall footings, they snap 'Center of Wall' to 'Center of Footing'. I need to offset them in one direction, so I type in 6" in the 'Eccentricity' field, also shown in the picture. My footings extend past each other exactly 6", forming a T instead of an L. Do you have a thought on how to fix this. I did a workaround by using an Isolated Footing for one of the walls.

I'm assuming that you are using 2010, because in 2011, they have simplified the footings, and added an eccentricity feature. in 2010 and before as I remember it you need to use the retaining wall footing which allows for offsets. Or you can use sweeps which I often use when there are steps in the foundation and slabs.

Hey mbsteve, I am using 2011. The Eccentricity feature allows the attached Wall Footing to be offset, one way or the other, from the Wall Centerline. If this field is left at 0'-0", the Wall Footing will be centered on the Wall. Is this correct? Please look at the attached picture in my original post. When I put a distance of 0'-6" into the Eccentricity Field, my footing is centered where it needs to be relative to the wall. This is not the problem. In the picture, where the two Wall Footings meet they do not form a L-Joint but rather a T or +. This is what I am having problems with. I want the Wall Footings to look like they do in the picture attached to this Reply. I got them to form a L-Joint by using one automatic Wall Footing and one Isolated Footing = Workaround. I like workarounds but they feel unholy as Revit should read my mind and know what I want. Please review the pictures and tell me what you think.

Unless I'm missing something you should be able to select the footing and then drag the end to wherever you want it to be. I've just finished doing this on a project I'm working on, so I'm pretty sure it will work. I have found that it is useful to put a temporary line or a reference line where you want the footing to end to snap to.

ArchMERK, You are 100% right on dragging them around to where you want them. I tried this a couple of times yesterday and obviously did it wrong and/or did not use the Revit magic rule - Try Try Again. Thanks for your time.
