I have a few of blocks that were made as wall hosted, now because they wont work on a linked revit model (even though i dont see why they should not work, or maybe i have setup something wrong?) i need to either get them to work or change them to be face hosted. what is the best way to go about doing this?

I have tryed copying and pasting over to the face hosted template and then rotating to suit, but then i get problems with the model still displaying when i untick it from plan/rcp and the annotation symbol wont display.

In 2011, it appears you can copy from a wall hosted to a face hosted family.  This is something we have been asking for.

So open both families and copy / paste.  NOTE - If the element is defined using the wall face rather than a reference plane, this may not work or may need to be modified.

Thanks ive gone and done that, but was just hoping there was a quicker way.

They should either make walls still walls when using linked models, or make a drop down seclection for the host in familys so u can easly change between wall or face. would make life alot easyer!

How would you modify a family from face-based or hosted to one that is not?
