I am new at all of this really and have been learning how to create mullions and ect for curtain walls. I am not to the door and I am wondering if there is a file size limit to placing a object into a curtain wall. The more extrusions I create and put into the door it stops the insertion into the panel. Thanks in advance for the help. David

Is it a curtainwall door or just a door?... And what detail are you adding?

I believe I have it set to a curtain wall door. I will not work after I place the cut outs for the glass extrusion in the door. I wouldn't doubt that I am missing a key setting though. I had to start it off of the general profile temptlate. Any help would be great.

You are not building the correct door for a curtain wall. You discarded Typhoon advice and that was a mistake. Please follow the thread Typhoon posted.

WWHub, I guess I'll have to start with another door block from here. I 2010 Structure didn't come with any curtain doors to start with so I created one and have it working misnus when I add openings for the glass. Thanks for looking at my block.

So I've tried it again ti no avail. Found the Architectural curtain wall door and used it to start with. Again I run into the same issue. The door works fine until I create openings in the door extrusion for glass. Here is the new block & the error I receive. -David

You should have said you were in Revit structure in your initial post, that would have helped a lot. What you don't understand is that curtain wall doors require an initial starting template that is different from normal doors because they are not just the door. They are made to fit inside the mullions of a curtain wall. In other words, they replace a panel in the curtain wall and adjust to fit in that location. The left, right and top reference planes are the bounding faces of the mullions around the door and the door adjusts to fit the grid. Any addition items within those limits must be constrained in shuch a waythat they too adjust to fit. I see that you have panels beside and above the door. Those should not be in this family. They would be part of the curtain wall. Just add / modify your grids to create these panels and use the fill panel or glazing of your choice. This family should only be the leaf of your door with whatever hardware or ??? that you want. NOTE: If you are planning on actually placing a frame around your door against the CW mullions, the just fit that agaist these three reference planes as a sweep constrained to these planes.
