So we're fast approaching deadline day for 50% documentation on our project and looking to get our drawings all nice and ready. One topic raised today, which has got me thinking (but equally stumped) is the matter of annotation keys on sheets.

I appreciate there is the legend view for identifying annotation tags, albeit dumbly without automated "tag of the tag" - we've used that before, and will probably use it again.

What's got me thinking is there a way to do awya with manually typed references to other sheets? As in, you're looking at an RCP and there's a key on the sheet saying something like "Read in conjunction with drawing XXXXX" - where the key is clever and is actually reading a Revit-number intelligently - updating automatically, perhaps even working as a click through (like section, elevation and callout heads do)

That, or how does everyone else do it?

I'm stuck at thinking a label family could do it - but the label family doesn't appear to allow the addition of shared parameters so I can't map it to our project drawing number (which we've had to introduce alongside Revit's numbers)

Referenced tags in notes and schedules is I believe on the Revit wish list.   There is a work around for model view notes but nothing for legends or schedules.

Hmmm, I feared as much. I kind of went for the forum post when my experimenting with annotation/tag/label families failed at:

"...this isn't working, and anyway, how will Revit know which sheet/view I'm wanting to include against which legend item without some kind of "Pick referral link" list..."

Pity.
