Hi, I've created a wall which I want to cut horizontally, so I can change the top portion to a different type. Annoyingly, when I use the split element tool in a 3D view, it wants to cut the wall vertically, I cannot get it to change to horizontally. Is there any way of toggling between horizontal and vertical? What am I doing wrong. Cheers.

OK, I found the problem - I'm using a stacked wall which, apparently, you cannot split horizontally. I used the break apart command which fixed my problem. Is there any advantage of keeping the wall as a stacked wall?

Stacked walls are very good for initial placement but because they can give you fits in some cleaup conditions, I usually break them up after they are placed. Remember, stacked walls are just that, idividual walls that are stacked. The composite is not a true wall type and each wall in the stack schedules and tags seperately.
