Hi! I have a RAC2010 64-bit and i want to render it to 3dsmax2010 64-bit, a simple interior room would be nice to begin with as an example, I already searched and tried earlier steps of it like opening the interior scene view ready for render and export it to FBX file->open 3dsmax-> import..and i'm stuck i dont know the next step for it. PS: I already installed Vray for its method of rendering.... I would understand any explanation on this thread or simply links that helps on this query is highly appeciated Thank you in advance!

Revit and Autodesk FBX are not Vray compatible. Once you import the FBX you must change all the materials and erase the photometric lighting and replace it with vray lighting.

"Revit and Autodesk FBX are not Vray compatible." Hmmmm....alabaster, depends on the version, VRay 1.5 SP4 is now compatible with Revit & Autodesk FBX files.

Please tell me what's the difference between the two options and what is preferable to select, Please see image below. Thank you for any help you can suggest...

" Whatchu talkin bout Ernesto!?!?! It uses MR materials and photometric lighting? I abandoned Vray a while ago. you got a trial of SP4? " alabaster, the first image was render in Revit (0:09:36 Medium 300 DPI), the second one is the .fbx file imported into Max 2011 and rendered with VRay 1.5 SP4 (0:01:30 Medium). I just rendered the model (I mean, I didn't apply new materials on it). Well, as you can see the only material that is not compatible is the glass, but in anyway........and yes, the lighting fixtures imported, work as well....

Yeah, it seems that although it preserves the materials from Revit, it loses some settings (brightness, etc.)
