Hi I'm trying to make a family that cuts through 2 different walls (any family will do, but I'm using a wall based family right now). The Walls are placed at a 90 degree angle. Does anyone know if this is possible? See attached image. Frank Sheiakh

Edit that Wall based family and create a "Void" with a "L" shape then use the "Cut Geometry" tool and select the void and the wall, save the family and load into project, watch what happens...

I wasn't clear about my intentions there. I want one hole in one wall and another hole in the other wall. Just like the hole in the image but on the other wall. As it seems one need to fool the family by making an L shaped void that just barely cuts the corner. Does anyone know if there are any better ways of dealing with this. //Frank Sheiakh

Why make this so complicated? Why not just an in-place void family that cuts both walls?

My point exactly. I'm trying to see how far i can get inside the family editor. This particular item will be used in hundreds of rooms in a hospital spanning over several revit files, so it would be nice if the family could work as expected.

Take a look at the corner window family and use that as a basis for your family. It is wall hosted and cuts two walls at a corner.

To Mcantwell, Does your family cut through both walls just by placing it? I'v tried yours but it won't work here.

I couldn't get text into the post above. The file has a quirk. It doesn't initially cut the return wall. But if you slide the fixture along the wall until the host opening cuts the return wall it cuts the return wall. When slid back into place both holes cut. Don't know why.
