Hi, I'm trying to have colored, clear, and translucent glass in one curtain wall. I've tried selecting just the panel, unlocked it, and duplicated the type to the glazing i want, but it didn't work. I feel like im not doing things right, please help me!!!!!!!! I need a nice rendering for my final project~~ I really always appreciated all the help here!! =)

Don't really know if this is what you want (see image), but you have to duplicate the material (glass) as well......

If you want different panel types, simply select a panel [hover, tab, pick] then go to its type properties, select edit>new>duplicate. Change you newly created panel type to material, surface pattern etc. that you want. Repeat for as many panel types as needed. Then swap out panels in curtain wall to the ones you want. From the way your question was worded, it sounds like you need to brush up on instance vs. type parameters which is an essential Revit concept. Until you have a firm grasp of it Revit will remain a mystery. The HELP menu is a good start, but many good book out there as well.

Hi guys
I have a similar question so I'm highjacking the thread. I want to do something that in my mind is super simple, but still haven't found a way to do.
I want to have a storefront, as it is built by Revit, only, for every part of it, only the middle panel to be glass, while the top and bottom should be opaque.
I want to somehow make it as default, and not have to select all 5000 single panels in my building one by one.. :D Any ideas?

There isn't a way to preset this. However you don't need to select them one by one, just select one then right click and hit select all instances in project then change them to what you want. You would then only need to go back and change the few you want to a different type.

So as teafoe says, set your base type as the opaque and then use a crossing window in elevation to pick the center ones and set those to the transparent.
