I am investigating Revit and I have a few concerns.. I read on a thread here that mirroring a whole project is difficult.. Is this an isolated issue or the Norm with Revit. I can currently mirror my houses in about 20 minutes in Archicad. Families! In Archicad one window has infinite adjusments available including shutters, Jack Arches, transoms, muntin designs.. etc.. nearly infinite.. How many parameters are available in Families..? Or am I going to have to create these as I learn? Sounds like there could be Family madness if a family needs to be created for each different window option. Are the Families tha come with Revit enough for custom residential work.. transoms, segment/elliptical ganged arch windows... What do you miss in Archicad? Thanks

Until now I couldnt find any perfect window family (with everything included), mirroring is an issue, but Archicad is not fully parametric, it has modeling limitations. Revit is more advanced generaly but development is a little bit slow.

I also used to make my projects in archicad...I don't think that there are big differences even if I was a bit troubeled at start by working with different levels in revit. My general impression is that the modelling part it's easier in revit but the plans look a bit better in archicad ( because I find it easier to work with lineweights in archicad).

Mirroring a project is high on the list of the Revit Developers. We may see this addressed in the next release. From what I've seen, it'll take less than 20 seconds to mirror an entire project.
