I need to create a reveal along the edge of a ceiling in one of the corridors in our project. What is the best way to do this? I have created a profile of the shape of the reveal that I need already, but cannot figure out how to apply it to the edge of the ceiling.

What type of ceiling do uou have? 

How big is this "reveal"?

You can do an in-place void sweep and assign it to cut the ceiling.  

You could do two ceilings, one the inner field area and the other just the perimeter.
