How do I export a Revit project to viz2006?
I have viz 2006 and am trying to import a revit project to render in viz. the "import to viz" plug in is not required for viz2006 according to the autocad web site. The question is, what is the procedure. I exported the plan to a .dwg. according the viz help..."In order to open a DWG file with VIZ Render, you need to first open the drawing in Architectural Desktop and use the Link to VIZ Render tool, or the DWG Link tool if you're already working in VIZ Render." Where is this DWG link tool? if I export to .dwg from revit and open in autocad, it is only a line drawing, no 3d propoerties.

Hi Steve.
The way to import a proyect from Revit to Viz is really simple.
FIRST
you have to export de 3DView from the proyect browser of revit. ( NOT A PLAN VIEW )
1.1 Double click in 3D View
1.2 File/export DWG. if you dont chose a name, revit take the name of de view, ( IN THIS CASE 3DVIEW.DWG)
NOW.
YOU ONLY HAVE TO OPEN VIZ AND IMPORT YOUR FILE.
YOU CAN CHOSE ONE OF THIS WAY. IMPORT FILE O LINK FILE,
IF YOU ARE USING VIZ RENDER FROM ARCHITECTURAL DESKTOP, OPEN DE VIZ RENDER IN A SEPARATED SESION, DONT OPEN IT FROM AN ARCHITECTURAL SESSION.
I HOPE THAT I HELP YOU.

REMEMBER ONLY IF YOU USED A 3DVIEW ITS WORKS.
