Hi, I want to fill the insulation hatch pattern for wall in Revit, Bascially I would like to achieve the effect in Autocad. See the attachment of my hatch pattern, also my Revit and Auotcad setting. Follows are the problem I met in revit 1.The hatch can not align with the wall line.(like the specified origin in Autocad) 2.The scale I use right now is a strange number, but that give me the closest result.(but still not prefect yet) Is there any one can help ? Thanks

"1.The hatch can not align with the wall line.(like the specified origin in Autocad)" - You can't "Align" a drafting Hatch, only MODEL....

Typhoon has told you correctly but in addition to this, you do have some settings for drafting patterns that will help you in some situations. Goto your manage / settings / fill patterns and pick any drafting pattern and choose edit. There you will see a setting "Orientation to host layers". Under that drop down you will find three settings: - Orient to view
- Keep readable
- Align with element
You will find that for wall cut hatches (and some other situations), you will want those patters set to Align with element. NOTE: This is a global setting.

It is important to do model hatches all the time. It will automatically align to the scale you are at vs a drafting hatch which only aligns to that one view. In other words drafting hatches are just a waste of time in my opinion. Also, if you do the hatch pattern on a filled region you can align it on the plan or elevation acording to what you want. The way to do this is below:
1. create your own model hatch
- click new in the model hatch, then either load a hatch or create one of your own with their system, then give it a name, then click ok.
2. click ok to finish the hatch
3. then after the hatch is drawn and aligned wrong click on the point in the hatch pattern where you want the hatch to align to the corner and move it to there.
4. edit the boundary and place your boundary where you want them again. The hatch will stay where it currently is and it will be aligned.
I had to learn how to do this for a floor pattern sheet i was preparing just thought id save someone some time.

This is helpful, but what if you want include the pattern in group. Revit doesn't seem to want to allow this.
I have a window and wall grouped together as a panel and I want the pattern to be part of the group. Is this possible?

What pattern are you talking about? A pattern in a wall type is part of that wall. If you mean an annotative - fill pattern, you need to pick that seperately and add to the group. A group can contain model and annotative elements.

Essentially, I have a brick wall with recessed "bay" that are clad with fiber cement panels / rainscreen. The window is set in the recessed portion and the cement panels surround the window. I want to be able to control the origin of the pattern so it is relative to the window opening. I tried creating a new group inclulding the region fill, but it does not appear to show up when I use the same group in another location. Since this is schematic, I was trying to keep it simple, but may be best to create rainscreen out of curtain wall. This will at least show up in 3D realistic and rendered views where the model pattern??

As I said earlier, you can assign an annotative pattern to a group but that pattern is 2D and will follow the rules in which it was created. If the fill pattern is in a plan view and the model elements are hosted by that plan level, then the group can be placed somewhere else in that plan view. But the filled region will only be on that level.
