Hi All,

New to Revit, I am trying to join the roof and the wall materials the order that I want. I want the wall cladding goes all

the way up to meet with the roof top layer.. Does anyone know how to do it?

Please find the attached file of the roof and wall connection

Thanks

Rico

I, not sure exatly how you wish to show the detail but I think you can try 2 things.

1 Use the CUT PROFILLE tool in the modify tab (check your help)

2 In your wall's type properties go to edit structure.

check the preview and set it at section.

Zoom in on the top and choose modify.

Unlock the top of the outer "panel" (check the image)

Just change your roof profole so it doesn't cover your outer layer, attach your wall to the roof, and then set it's height to the top height of your roof.

The result is the area beneath the roof attachs, and the rest goes up to the height specified (as shown)

Hi Gebber,

Thx for the info. I already tried that. However, my wall cladding still didn't meet up with the roofing Cladding material.  ..

Hi Gebber and Kardiff,

Thx for the info. I tried both of the suggestions and they didn't work.

Kardiff- Originally I have attached my wall to my roof due to my angled roof. However,  when I offset my roof profile to allow the wall went up, They detached automatically and my wall cladding went up and passed the roof.

What I want is that the grey wall cladding material would meet up with the exterior white roofing material, And the grey strapping "wall"meets up with the grey strapping "Roof" as well as Sheathing meets up with the sheathing from above.

I hope it is not that confusing..

You misunderstand

You don't change the profile

You attach the wall partly as shown, and you just change it's height

But parts of your wall that don't lie underneath your roof won't attach and can change with the top offset in element properties, images attached

This is the best I can do on your description, failing that you'll have to upload an image of exactly what you want (detail drawing or eq)

Hi Kardiff,

The reason that I can't extend height of my wall is beacuse I attached my wall onto the sloped Roof.

I attached a file that I photoshopped "Roof 1" of what I want to achieve and the other one " roof and Wall eveation is my existing condition.

Due to the size limit, I can't upload my revit wall and roof file. Do you have anyother email address that I can email you?

I am apologized of taking up your time

Regards,

Rico

You can not do what you want as you have modeled it.  You have a couple of options.

  1. Hold your roof back from the wall edge and add a sweep for that material - may still have a line.
  2. Do two roofs.  One that is just the membrane and underlayment and the other that is your structure.  Then connect the wall to the upper roof.

Hi WWHub,

Yah !!! It worked...Thx for everyone who helped me on this.

WWHub- One question.. Is it the only way to do the roof and Wall connection?

Do you know anything about the Core Boundary  in the Wall Edit Assembly?

Rico
