Hello,

We recently got this error on one of our projects. The user mentioned in the error claims not to have replaced the Central File with his Local File, so I'm not sure what's going on.

We've removed all local copies, resaved the Central File as a new Central File, created new Local Files from it, yet still get the same error. I've even detached one of our Local Files from Central, and created a new Central from it...

I found this thread, but no solution was offered: http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=13298

Thank you for your time!

I would believe that your user did indeed save over top of the central.  Are you using 2010?  It will automatically apend the username to the central name when the central is opened (not detached) and this helps to stop this problem.

In order to create a new central from a local file, you have to check the create central in the options.  You do not have to do that when you open a file "detached from central" because that new file will automatically be saved as a central.

Thanks Hub, I also think he may have messed with the files not realizing the consequences.

I eventually tried detaching my Local and saving it as a New Central, trashed all other files and made new locals from it. After much trial and error, this seems to have worked and we no longer get the error.
