Hey everyone, I need help with Revit Architecture 2010. I'm trying to create an dormer opening in my roof by slecting the walls and roof of my dormer. Whatever I try (detaching walls, reset wall profiles, etc.), I keep getting the 'circular chain of references error'. I have attached broken down file for any of you to look at. It's broken down all the way to just the roof and dormer and the same problem still persists. I really hope someone can help me, as I've got this problem for approx. 30 instances... Thanks

Typhoon, Thanks for your swift reply. That seems to work in the file I posted. I have tried to use the same sequence in my original project file and have been unable to do this. It keeps giving me the same error. -Reset wall profiles -Attached base of walls to roof -Join roofs -Create dormer opening by selecting exactly the same lines you showed -Problem persists Perhaps you have another suggestion? Thanks

Yes, first use the "UNJOIN GEOMETRY" and pick in the Dormer roof then do the rest: -Reset wall profiles -Attached base of walls to roof -Join roofs -Create dormer opening by selecting exactly the same lines you showed
