When I try to move the arch. background linked into the model to fix things, it gives me this error: "This Local File has been saved by user '______', current user is 'bwhittle'. Please change your user name or stop working on this file." Anyone know why I'm getting this and why I can't move it and have to wait for the other user to move it back? I know he moved it in the first place but I don't see why I can' move it if he relinquished everything and saved and I was the last one working on it. Everything was fine even after he was supposed to move it back yesterday and I was last one working on it but open it up this morning and 80% of all my lights, power, and every other discipline and circuiting are messed up yet some are ok. I'm not sure if any or all are locked to grids or walls or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are getting that error, then he didn't relinquish it correctly. You will need to either use his computer to open and re-synchronize the file, or you can do it from your machine. If you go to Options in Revit (before you open the file), there is a field for user name. Change it to his, then open and synchronize. Close the file, change the user name back, and you should be good to go.

If your updates from yesterday are missing, it almost sounds like that person saved over top of the central (replaced it). You may want to look at a backup.... Good luck.
