I've used LVL's for rafters and want to cut the tails down to 100mm from 240mm.
It dosen't work with voids. so do I have to use extrusions for rafters etc. in order to be able to modify shapes or is there another way.

Best way would be to create a family for the beam.
In the family add an adjustable void to give the appropriate tail.... You could even set it up with a yes/no to set whether it has a cut tail or not.
