How do I put in ceiling soffits along the wall? I have tried to do it with sweeps but the sweep options do not give me a soffit option. It give me EIFS, brick, parapet cap and precast sill. I don't have one to load and I don't know how to edit or create families. I also want to know how to do a soffit in the middle of the room. I have placed it in as a wall that is hung from the roof/second foor. I tried to make the soffit wider but all of my walls shifted to that width. Thanks

I do soffits as ceilings... In rooms, I will use walls (i sided gyp) as the bulkheads.

I put a wall in and the gyp board ceiling to create a soffit. There is a line where the ceilng and wall meet. See attached. Is there a way to merge the ceiling and part of the wall to get rid of the line? Thanks

for revit to accurately join the ceiling and wall portions of the soffit, their finish must be identical. They must have the same outermost Function and Material. To do this enter the family and check the wall type's structure. Typically for furring the exterior is the finished side. Check the Function (Finish 1 [4] or Finish 2 [5]) and the Material. Now enter the Ceiling family and make sure the ceiling finish layer's Function and Material are identical. This should allow the joint to clean-up in elevation and RCP as well as perspective, but not in section. Where this is not an option, for instance where paint types need to be different, you could enter the perspective view and try the Linework tool to change the weight of the offending line to <INVISIBLE LINES>
