Hi there I read somewhere in the forum that you can build symbol family and add a scale factor parameter, problem is I can not find that type of parameter when try to designate the parameter type. I want to be able to increase the size of the symbol in a view with a scale parameter regardless the view scale. I am working on REVIT 2010

Symbols do not scale, they are the same printed size in every view. If you want different sizes, you will have to create different symbols.

Ahahah… but what if I want to be able to do that? I think the answer is to build the “symbol” as a detail family, so my question is still valid. P.S thanks for the reply WWHub nirim

Go ahead then and make your detail as you would any detail because those will scale with the drawing. You can use reference planes with label dimensions to control your geometry. You could use a (type or instance) scale factor parameter in formula's to control those label dimensions.

That the thing WWHub, when I looked at the type parameter list in the dialog box I couldn’t find the scale factor parameter. nirim

You have to create the parameter if you want it.... THERE IS NO SUCH THING BUILT INTO REVIT! That is what I was telling you to do..."You could use a (type or instance) scale factor parameter in formula's to control those label dimensions." . You have to create formula's using a parameter (you called it scale factor) that would control the label dimensions.

WWHub Back from busy weekend. I am now realizing that your solution is what I need to do but two remarks: A. If I need to re scale a symbol (like the attach file) there are to many lines to control with the scale parameter, and B. Maybe it is something to add to the wish list, a real built in scale factor parameter to control the size of objects like 3D plants family in landscape and 2D family. nirim
