My revit 8.1 crashes repeatedly. I never had a problem with 7.0 It happens mostly in 2 instances...
[1] rendering a 3d view (but doesnt always happen then). The drawing just closes - no error message, etc.
[2] & when trying to export to .dwg. This results in a fatal error message.
The file is one that was created in r7.0, has a base plan imported from an autocad drawing. To work around the problem, I cut and pasted the exploded base plan that was imported into the drawing along with a simple detail line outline of the building into a new r8.1 drawing and then exported that simpler file to autocad 2004. That worked OK. I have tried audits of the drawing and no problems are found.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Best sent to support.
I'm sure they have plenty of experience in those types of issues.
Please don't hesitate to send weird behaviour like crashes to support and make sure you fill out error reports when prompted (they do read them). Remember your subsciption includes support...

Log into the Autodesk subscription centre and create a support request, or alternatively go through your resellers support...
