What would be a good way to save text blocks? Like a list of abbreviations or a whole page of spec notes to be re-used on other projects. right now i open the old project and cut and paste.

I would turn it into a group and save that into a company directory (rather than project.) Then...you just load the group into any desired projects as needed. The plus side to groups is that you can update the parent and then reload it into any project and it will update...much the way a xref updates in CAD.

Likewise you can cut & paste your text into a legend, then copy that legend into your template file. Same result.
