I have a rather large topo model. I need to edit a small portion of the grading. I thought it would be simpler to cut the surface into parts and GRADE REGION the parts but the SPLIT SURFACE tool leaves the edge of the surface visable. I've tried to change the LINEWEIGHT to invisible with no luck.
I've also tried the GRADE REGION tool on the entire site but the program hangs. The site model is about 56 MB
I also have a condition where part of a building is buried in the hillside such that the grade spills onto the roof of the building (a sod roof). I've been using a FILLED REGION to show this condition in section. Are there better methods for representing this?

I think I'll split the surface, make the changes I need, then merge the surfaces.
