Hi everybody, I am new to Revit and using Revit 2010. For some reason my earth hatch pattern is not showing on the part occupied by a building a pad that belongs to new construction. On the current section I have all my phases to existing and showing all elements. Why is my view not showing the pattern? I thought it wouldn't show anything new since my phase is set to existing and showing all. Thank you! BTWall my buildings pad are -8" from my top of foundation and8" thick. Luisruben

Hi, thanks for your response Typhoon. I have checked the help menu, the tutorials and my Paul Aubin's book but still having the same problem. I don't know if i was clear enough with my problem. Currently my view is set to existing for phase and showall for phase filter. If I I set my view properties as existing for phase and none for phase filter I get the new construction elements (new walls, new roofs and the new pad, etc) and existing elements mixed at the same time which I don't want. My view should be existing showing just existing elements, without showing the new construction pad but with the earth hatch complete on my existing section view. Any other ideas? I will really appreciate your help. Thank you!

Draw a new patch of earth over the blank bit in exsisting, as they are in different phases you shouldn't get a problem, and it would appear as you want Either that or just reigon mask your section

Hi Kardiff, thanks foryour help The patch works for me! I am just curious, do pads take part of the earth pattern even if they are in a different phase?, because in my existing section view the topo surface is existing and that part of the earth not showing is right above the new construction pad which doesn't show in that view (which is fine) but it takes the earth above like waiting for the pad to be placed, even if it is existing. Thanks again and this website is great and helpful!!

I think so as it's part of the topo massing tool, so there is definatly a relationship between them which may be causing this issue, other then that i am not sure i'm sorry, but glad I could help
