Revit 2010, SP2

We have multiple floor plan callouts for enlarged areas on our floor plans and are wanting to see the callouts in our dimension and equipment plans.  I can't see the callouts in any other view except the one that we originally created them in.  If I do a section detail looking down, to make a plan view, I can see the callouts in all views, but that would take a redonkulous amount of time to do.

 Where did I go wrong?

If the callout is created in a Plan View, then it will show in all plan views of the same area.  If the callout was created in a detail view (call-out), then it will not show anywhere else.

Another problem could be your scale.  Check your call-out settings and see iwhat the "hide in scales coarser than" is set to

I did create it as a floor plan callout in an 1/8" plan, which is not a callout plan.  The callout tags do not show up in ANY other views.  There is no option for "hide at scales coarser than" in the view properties.

Sorry ... the hide in scales coarser... is a setting for sections - not callouts.

So - that means that either your plan is a callout or ... you simply don't have callouts on in VG settings of your other plans.  Did you check VG in those views?

Yes everything is on.  I even tried it in a new project on the 1st level.  duplicated the view and there is no callouts.  They show up if the view is a dependent, but I'm not trying to have dependent views, since I need different VG settings for the other views.

In the call out that doesn't show anywhere is, look in View Properties.  Shown in "Parent View Only" - change that setting.

That setting doesn't exist either unless I use detail callouts in dependent views.  It's not an option in floor plan callouts.

Yes it is... I looked.  Open the callout view and it is view properties in there.

You're showing a system family of "Detail View".  Are you saying that if I use detail views for enlarged floor plan views I should see them on every floor plan?

We used the "Floor Plan" callout for all of our enlarged plans because they're not details, they're enlarged floor plans.

Dag-nab-it, all enlarged plans are done the wrong way.  Sad  It does fix it if I do detail views with intersecting views on.

 Thanks!

A down side of using detail callouts instead of floor plan callouts is that a detail view can not be duplicated as a dependant. This may or may not be a big deal depending on your work flow. In our office we use dependant views for issuing addendums, responding to RFI's etc. so it complicates things if we can't duplicate as a dependant.
