Hello everyone! Fairly new to using Revit 2010 and just inserted a Revit supplied light troffer (2009) into a compound ACT ceiling. The light appears to be functioning when rendering but it also appears that the ceiling texture fills in the fixture (see attachment). Any ideas on a fix? thanks in advance!

The lights in 2010 don't automatically cut the ceiling.  They did in 2009.  You need to edit your fixture and add an opening cut.

...oops _ I see you say that was a 2009 fixture... You should still check it to see if it cuts the ceiling.  It looks like it doesn't.

Try this: Pick in the light, pick in "edit family" then pick "load into Project" and check...

Thanks, Typhoon and WWHub...I got into the Troffer family and it did not appear to have an opening...added one and reloaded in the project...Since I didn't get very far with it, I wiped out the original ceiling and started from scratch again. I tried first w/ a basic ceiling but that didn't seem to work (rendered completely dark w/ interior artificial only) and then went back to original compound ceiling and it now appears to work fine! It renders a bit bright so I'll fool around w/ the dimming or other light characteristics...

Thanks for your help!
